WPT Announces Prime Cyprus Stop w/ $1M Guaranteed Championship
The World Poker Tour (WPT) is expanding its Season XXII schedule with a brand-new festival taking place in Cyprus this fall. The WPT Prime Cyprus festival, running Aug. 15-26 at the Chamada Prestige Hotel & Spa, will include a $1,100 buy-in Prime Championship event with a $1 million guarantee.
“As we continue our globetrotting mission to spread poker around the world, we’re proud to introduce Cyprus to the 2024 schedule,” WPT CEO Adam Pliska said in a press release. “The great Chamada Prestige will host the first-ever WPT venture in the beautiful island country.”
The WPT Prime Cyprus Championship will take place Aug. 22-26, while the rest of the series will feature various side events.
Cyprus is home to several poker festivals, many of which are live reported by PokerNews. The Chamada Prestige, which has hosted past festivals, features 50 tables and a main stage at a five-star, all-inclusive hotel along the Mediterranean coastline.
