Parx Big Stax XXXI Kicks Off Tomorrow; PokerNews Set to Live Report

Parx Big Stax XXXI

Parx Casino in Bensalem, Pennsylvania is known for their popular “Big Stax” poker series, which tomorrow kicks off its 31st edition. For the first time ever, PokerNews will be on-site to live reporting three events – the Big Stax 300, 500, and 1100.

Big Stax 300

The $300+$40 buy-in Big Stax 300 features four starting flights at 11 a.m. each day from Wednesday, September 25 through Saturday, September 28. Each Day 1 will play through Level 15. The surviving players from each flight will combine for Day 2 action on Sunday, September 29, with the final table set to play out on Monday, September 30.

The tournament will start players with 30,000 in chips and the Day 1 flights will feature 45-minute levels. Day 2 will see levels upped to 60 minutes, while the final table will see them increase to 90 minutes. It is an unlimited re-entry and best-stack-forward event. Late registration and re-entry will be available until Level 17 begins.

The tournament will be in Parx East (3rd floor) for each Day 1 and Day 2. The final day will take place in the poker room in the main casino.

Big Stax 500

The $500+$50 buy-in Big Stax 500 features three starting flights. Each Day 1 will play through Level 15. The surviving players from each flight will combine for Day 2 action on October 6, with the final table set to play out on October 7.

The tournament will start players with 40,000 in chips and the Day 1 flights will feature 45-minute levels. Day 2 will see levels upped to 60 minutes, while the final day will see them increase to 90 minutes. It is an unlimited re-entry and best-stack-forward event. Late registration and re-entry will be available until Level 17 begins.

Big Stax 1100

The $1,100+$100 buy-in Big Stax 1100 features two starting flights. Each Day 1 will play through Level 15. The surviving players from each flight will combine for Day 2 action on October 13, with the final table set to play out on October 14.

The tournament will start players with 40,000 in chips and the Day 1 flights will feature 45-minute levels. Day 2 will see levels upped to 60 minutes for six levels, while 90-minute play will begin with Level 22. It is an unlimited re-entry and best-stack-forward event. Late registration and re-entry will be available until Level 17 begins.

The tournament will be in Parx East (3rd floor) for each Day 1. Day 2 and the final day will take place in the poker room in the main casino.

Look Back at Big Stax XXX

The latest Big Stax comes on the heels of Big Stax XXX, which wrapped up in August. In that series, the Big Stax 300 drew a massive 2,293 runners and offered up a $653,505 prize pool. James Lillis came out on top to win the title and $94,456.

Meanwhile, the Big Stax 500 had 1,224 entries and a $581,400 prize pool. Daniel Park, who had just won a World Series of Poker gold bracelet over the summer, emerged victorious to win a $95,017 first-place prize.

Finally, the Big Stax 1100 had 455 entrants create a $485,485 prize pool and Andrew Ostapchenko took it down for $97,227.
