Nick Schulman is an American professional poker player who began playing poker in his teens and soon made his way to the virtual felt online. Because he couldn’t play in brick-and-mortar card rooms until he was 21, Schulman spent his days grinding it out online. He studied the game and improved over the years as he climbed the limits. When he eventually turned of legal age, Nick took to live games and played in underground clubs in New York City.
Schulman's first recorded live poker tournament result also happened to be the first of many outright victories. Schulman entered the $10,200 WPT World Poker Finals in Mashantucket in November 2005, and he went all the way, clinching the $2,167,500 top prize. Two years later, Schulman almost won the same tournament again but ultimately finished as runner-up to Michael Vela and had to console himself with an $864,652 second-place prize.
