Chris Hunichen is a high-stakes poker player from North Carolina with over $10.9 million in live earnings. Hunichen sits first on the state's all-time money list, almost $3 million ahead of 2005 WSOP Main Event winner Greg Raymer. He has one WSOP bracelet.
One of Hunichen's biggest cash came at the online 2020 World Series of Poker (WSOP) on GGPoker.com in the $25,000 NLH Poker Player's Championship, where he finished runner-up for $1.3 million. Three years earlier at the 2017 WSOP, Hunichen finished in second in a $5,000 No-Limit Hold'em 6-Handed event for $358,677.
In 2021, Hunichen final tabled the $50,000 High Roller No-Limit Hold'em 8-Handed event, ultimately finishing in fifth place for $266,031.
Despite racking up 58 WSOP cashes worth $2.9 million, Hunichen has yet to get his hands on a bracelet or circuit ring. That could change if he is able to make a deep run at the 2022 WSOP.
Outside of the WSOP, Hunichen has had success on the high roller circuit. In November 2019, he finished third in the $10,000 partypoker LIVE NLH Millions Main Event for $1.1 million.
2019 was quite the year for Hunichen as he also finished second in the $100,000 US Poker Open NLH Main Event for $940,000, took down the €10,300 EPT High Roller for $927,408 and finished fourth in the PCA Super High Roller for $627,340.
At the 2024 WSOP in Las Vegas, Hunchen won the $100,000 High Roller No-Limit Hold'em event for his first bracelet and a new career-best $2,838,389.
