Matt Jarvis Cash Poker Live

Inspired by the biggest hand of his poker career, Matt Jarvis wanted to create a poker experience unlike anything else on the market. Jarvis’ eighth-place finish at the 2010 World Series of Poker Main Event ended on a hand that lives on in poker lore to this day.

That exit from the Main Event took Jarvis on a rollercoaster of emotions. The now-former poker pro wants to bring that experience to the world with the launch of the Cash Live Poker app.

Play for Free Today

Part poker, part game show, the Cash Live Poker app features free daily tournaments, with cash prizes and the limelight of the final table on the line. Players can download the app and play for free, with no deposit required at any time.

Opening the Cash Live app at tournament time puts you in the middle of a live poker game show, which revolves around an all-in-or-fold tournament. The app features two free tournaments per day, which start at 6 pm and 9 pm ET daily.

The buy-in for every tournament is $0, but real cash prizes await. A revolving line-up of live hosts moderates each tournament, including an occasional appearance by Jarvis himself.

“We wanted to create something that was fast and fun,” Jarvis said. “It’s 15 minutes, very simple for people to play, all-in or fold.”

The Most Exciting 15 Minutes in Poker

Each tournament is separated into preliminary rounds, with the object of finishing in the top five of the overall chip counts and making the final table. You get to see the flop for free in each round, then decide whether you want to go all-in with your hole cards, or fold.

Players can fold up to three times in the preliminary rounds. At the end of those rounds, the top 185 players get paid, with the top five making it to the final table.

As the action proceeds, the live host calls the action, game-show style. If you make a big hand, you’ll get your name called out and immortalized in the Cash Live Poker session.

Logging in for a Cash Live Poker tournament could put you in the mix playing against some of the biggest names in poker. Joey Ingram, an investor and consultant for Cash Live Poker, has been known to make a deep run in the all-in-or-fold tournament.

“This product is unlike any other app I’ve seen poker-related, and it’s a lot of hype when you go deep in it,” Ingram said. “I won a game, and it’s super intense and a lot of fun - very replicable of what it’s like to win a real-life tournament.”

You might find yourself at the virtual table against Cash Live Poker investors like Ingram, Kevin Martin, Phil Hellmuth, or Dan “Jungleman” Cates. You don’t have to be a poker pro to earn cash prizes on the app, however.

“I really tried to gear this toward anybody that likes card games of any sort,” Jarvis said. “Even if you’re a professional poker player – I’ve thought about how I could make this experience fun for me.”

“We actually have players who have never played poker before, but they’re hooked on Cash Live. Because it’s this fun, exciting experience, and the game happens to be poker.”

Take Your Shot at the Monthly Leaderboard

The top three winners from each month earn extra cash prizes from the monthly leaderboard. In addition to winning a share of $300, the No. 1 ranked player from each month gets a spotlight interview on Cash Live Poker’s social media channels.

“Our experience makes people feel almost like they’re playing poker on TV,” Jarvis said. “The people that make the final table are the stars of the show. This is much different than playing an online poker tournament. You’re getting your name called out; you’re basically the star of the show.”

Inspired by Infamous WSOP Main Event Hand

Jarvis’ inspiration to create the Cash Live Poker app came from his final hand in the 2010 WSOP Main Event. With eight players remaining at the final table, Jarvis went all-in preflop with 99 and got a call from Michael “The Grinder” Mizrachi, who turned over AQ.

The runout on that hand created one of the most memorable moments in WSOP history. The flop came Q8Q, leaving Jarvis with just a 10% chance of winning the hand.

The turn fell 9, giving Jarvis nines full of queens and putting him in the driver’s seat. A safe river would have put Jarvis at second in the chip counts at the final table, with an $8.94 million first-place prize on the line.

Jarvis went into fifth street with an 87% chance of winning the hand. The river came A, however, sending Jarvis to the rail at the end of a Main Event rollercoaster ride.

Jarvis, who would go on to capture a gold bracelet the following year, secured his career-high best cash in that tournament, scoring a $1,045,743 payday for the eighth-place finish. Many poker enthusiasts still remember the hand to this day.

“It was this crazy back-and-forth hand,” Jarvis said. “I just knew that there was something there from that hand that I played that really connected with people on an emotional level.”

You can currently find the Cash Live Poker app at the App Store for Apple iOS devices. An Android version of the app is coming to the Google Play store soon.
